My Tripods

TARGUS TG-P60T 60," PRO SERIES 3-WAY PAN HEAD and BUBBLE LEVEL TRIPOD

I've had this tripod for years and it's still works pretty well for me when it comes to stable and steady shots with light camera and lens combinations. I actually have 2 of these and one lives in my vehicle at all times. A great grab and go tripod for light gear and non windy gusty days!

It's was a very low cost tripod but well made and I don't think it's available any more.

The video types of heads on these tripods were very cheap like and weak so I immediately replaced them with well built ball heads.

Manfrotto MT290DUA3US 290 Dual Aluminum Tripod

I also have the 1st version of this tripod in which the center bar doesn't  extend and fold out like the photo shows. The "Dual Version" is my main go to tripod that I use almost all the time. It's an awesome tripod and the best tripod I've ever had. (I've been through a few!) I 99.9% trust it to hold my most expensive gear.

I purchased both of these tripods as "legs only" tripods and bought my own ball head for the Dual Version and a video head for the 1st Edition one. (shown below).

Manfrotto PIXI EVO Mini Tripod

I have a couple different small tripods but this is my main one and the best one. I use this all the time and it lives in my main camera bag and goes with me everywhere. It's great for quick and on the fly set ups, especially for macro photography. It's also strong enough to hold most of my camera and lens combinations except for the big heavy telephoto zoom lenses.

This is one of the most durable and versatile little tripods I've ever used!

The Tripod Heads I Use

Joby Ballhead X

I went through a phase (and several ball heads) trying to find a good strong and trusty ball head that didn't cost an arm and leg and ended up "accidentally" coming across the Joby Ball Head.

AND it costs less that 50 bucks!

I 99.9% trust this ball head to hold my most expensive gear and have been using these ball heads on all 3 of my tripods for almost 3 years now without 1 of them failing yet! (and I don't baby them).

I use all arca-swiss types of clamps and mounting plates and have modified these Joby Ball heads and fitted them with those styles of hardware.

For 50 bucks you can't go wrong!!!!! (in my opinion) ;)

Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base

I have this head mounted on to my Manfrotto 1st edition 290 Tripod and it's an amazing video head. A bit heavy though. I mainly bought this head for using my big Sigma Lens. I don't do many video's away from my desk but when I do this video head works amazing and is a smooth and awesome set up to work with!

I've also modified this head with arca-swiss clamps and plate system and also with a leveling base between it and the tripod.

This is an amazing and high quality video head for the price compared to what's out there........

This video head also using a leveling base is perfect for shooting panorama photo's too!

The Modifications I did to my Tripod Heads

These are light weight and well built clamps and plates that I found on Amazon. The video head I also have mounted on a Neewer leveling base. These set ups have worked well for me for quite a while now. If you want to know more about this set up and the exact parts I'm using, shoot me an email.
